Dancing Under the Stars

This past week, Meg was in a ballet company that performed in the park. She had such a great time and did a wonderful job! She had been practicing hard since June and really loved her costumes! They performed the Pied Piper and the Magic Flute and Meg was a child and a rat. She did great even though the humidity was horrible on Saturday and Sunday evenings. We are so proud of you, Meg!

All On His Own

Yesterday, Trey was choosing to stand a lot more than usual. He took a few steps toward the dog and toward me. Today he took six steps all on his own. Yes, I said SIX! We are so excited! Dr. M said he could walk if he could stand, squat, and stand back up again without holding on....which Trey does and has done for a few months now. I guess he heard that his secret was out and he better start now that the doctor outed him...lol. He is doing so great and I am really hoping when he does walk for good that he does it when I am not at school!

Burn, Baby, Burn

I guess you could say it was just one of those days. I was making pizza for supper last night (Mimi's dough recipe, YUMMY!) and I was putting it into the oven. Trey was playing with some of my pots and pans in the kitchen and I know how fast he crawls, so as I opened the oven door, I used my leg to hold the door open just wide enough for me to get the pizza in quickly. However, the door was not open wide enough because I burnt my arm about 3 inches above the elbow on the oven door. OWWWWW!!! I put it under cold water and then put some pain spray I had on it. It didn't seem that big of a deal other than being slightly painful, especially if touched ( yes, I have done something like this before, just not on the oven). The pink spot was only about an inch long. This morning, however, the "spot" had grown to about 1 1/2 inches and now has blisters on it. Yuck! It is still sore, but looks worse than it feels. It is probably the worst burn I have had since I was a year old (if you don't know that story.....ask me sometime). One of those clutzy days gone wrong, I guess....*sigh* :)

My Big 1 year old!

Trey had his doctor appointment, which was *sigh* more tramatic than I thought it would be. Our appointment was scheduled for 2pm. We got back to a room at 2:20pm. However, we had arrived at 1:35pm. Usually showing up early is not a problem. We get back to a room within 10 minutes. This time we were not so lucky. We waited and waited and waited. At 2:15pm, I finally asked if we were close to going in, I found out that no one, and I mean no one (was anyone working????) forgot to pull Trey's file. WHAT??? I had signed in, they asked for our last name, then proceeded to mark through his name on the sign in list. Doesn't that mean they have his file ready?? I love our peds office, don't get me wrong. This is the first time I have ever experienced this at their office. Trey had a rough time b/c it was waaayyy past nap time by the time the dr came in. Needless to say, by the time we left (at 3:10pm) he was hurting (from his three shots) and so so tired. He fell asleep before we left the parking lot. I know better now to make sure this doesn't happen again. At least both the nurse that took us back and our doctor apologized to us. Anyway....enough venting.....Trey has grown soooo much! He is 22 pounds (36th %tile), 30 inches long (54th %tile), and has a head circumference of 47 1/2 cm (79th %tile). Meg was 22.15 pounds and 32 inches long at 12 months and Lily was 21.10 pounds and 31 inches at 12 months. I am glad to see that Trey is catching up to his sisters!

School 'Do

Lily got a new hairdo today.....just in time for school. She wanted a new length and I think she looks adorable! She loves her new 'do! Mrs. D did a great job, plus Lily always gets a sucker there.....which makes it worth the visit!

Crazy Dogs

On our trip to West Virginia, we took a picnic up to Woodbine next to the Cranberry River. Molly and Bear got to play and run around. Molly loved having another dog to run crazy with. As you can see, Bear is running for his life from Molly! Molly catches her "prey" and is victorious!!

Notice Bear's "psycho" face!!

Trey's First Birthday!

Trey had a great first birthday! He was not too sure about his cake, however. When we sang happy birthday, he looked at his cake and then cried! He was a little nervous about eating it, but he did give it a try and ate most of it. Trey had fun opening presents....although he was a little nervous about some of them. It was great to have almost all of our extended family here for the celebration. It truly made his first birthday very special. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family!

The giraffe scared Trey, but as you can see, he really loved it! Happy Birthday to my big boy!
