Our Week....

This week has seemed busier than usual, and we are really doing less! Meghan's track is over...the girls track team were first in the county and third in the state! Lily had a field trip a week ago at a wildlife refuge in our state and saw a baby buffalo right after it had been born (the afterbirth was still coming out of her mama....yuck!). Trey is talking so much more and doing so well at school. He loves to find the letter T and say "that T for Trey". I had Fun Day at my school on Friday and it wore me out! I loved that my kids all had a good time...I am sure they all slept well on Friday evening!
Last night, we went to a minor league baseball game (Trey's "first" one that he remembers, anyway) and he had a blast! He watched the entire 9 innings and tried to throw like the pitchers did. We had really good seats behind the home team's dugout and we were about 5 rows up from the field. It was a nice night, not too hot, and Trey even let me sleep in until 8 this morning! We are gearing up for our last 4 days of school. I can't wait for it to be over (and neither can the girls!)! They got to go swimming with Codi, one of Lily's friends today, so that should hold them until school's out. They have been driving me nuts, wanting to go to the pool! I am just not ready for bathing suit weather just yet!

An Eventful Saturday

Today started out as any other day....I was woken up way to early by my 2 1/2 year old and we hit some yard sales before picking up Lily from a birthday sleepover. We came home and ate some lunch. Trey ran into the living room (wearing his flip flops) and tripped, running right into our coffee table's leg with his nose. It started bleeding and he was screaming, but the blood wasn't gushing. I got a wet paper towel and put it up to his nose to stop the bleeding. When I picked up the paper towel from his nose, there was a red spot on the tip (which you can see in the pic). I guess blood was pooling under the skin and was brought to the surface once I had applied pressure. I called our pediatrician (hoping we could go there), but was told to take him to the ER, especially since he was complaining about his eye hurting. Luckily, Heather was home and able to take the girls for me (Daniel is at drill) and I headed to the ER with Trey. We got there at about 12:10 and left around 2...but that is another story. The ER doctor was concerned that he might have broken a bone under the eye and it could pinch the eye muscle, not allowing him to have full range of motion with his right eye. The x-rays, luckily, just showed that he had not broken that bone and that he just fractured the end of his nose. Of course, there is nothing we can do for him other than to give him Tylenol or Motrin for pain. He gave us a list of warning signs that something more severe could be wrong, but I am not expecting it to (***prayers prayers***). He did such a good job getting x-rays....he didn't cry and laid so still (which is not normal!!). I am just so thankful it wasn't any worse than it is....and maybe no more flip flops around the house!

His nose is a little swollen, but he is tough!

Mower Man

This is what my boy wants to do EVERYDAY when we get home in the afternoon. When we pull into the garage, he asks if "Daddy mow and weed?" It is his obsession.....let's hope it holds out when he is Meghan's age!

Happy (*belated*) Mother's Day!

Sorry for the delay, but I was busy all weekend long it seemed! I had a great Mother's Day! Daniel and the kids took me out to eat at Denny's for breakfast Sunday morning. I got to have a Mother's Day tea at Trey's daycare on Friday. He made the cutest picture frame with his hand print as the picture. It said "My Mom is the coolest chick!" His handprint was yellow with a little face and legs to make a chick. Very cute! His card had his handprints as well and said "If I counted all the ways I love you...." (and you open it up to a footprint) "I would have to use my toes!" So cute! Lily made a ton of items at school as well. Meghan made me a card and I am getting to pick out my own new comforter from Daniel and the kids. He knows I am picky and I would rather pick it out myself.
We got our new mattress and I am still adjusting to it. It is a little firmer than I am used to (I really loved our old mattress), but I think I actually slept thru the entire night last night without waking up. That is a first in a loooonnnnggg time!
Needless to say, I felt very pampered all weekend!

Mattress Update....

We Found One!!! It comes in on Friday and I can hardly wait to have a blissful night's sleep on it.....come on Friday!!!

My Track Star

Meghan has been doing a great job running track! She had a cheering section on Tuesday with us, Brenda, and her BFF, Katie. We were yelling LOUDLY! She loved it...you could tell it motivated her to run even faster. It was a busy day that day! I had to pick up Trey and Lily, get Lily to Girl Scouts by 5 and then straight to Meghan's track meet. Daniel swinged by Lily's meeting to pick her up at 6, then came to the meet. Needless to say, we were all very tired on Wednesday morning!
