Middle School Update
I know it is not Christian-like to be boastful, but I just wanted to tell you how very proud of Meg we are. She took her placement tests for 6th grade and got into advanced math (which also includes advanced science) and she also got into advanced language arts (which includes advanced social studies). She was so worried about the tests, but did awesome! Way to go, Meg!
Memphis in May
Saturday in Memphis, we went to the children's museum. Their museum is so much fun! They have the neatest exhibits! They have this huge tower that you can climb in, a real FedEx jet INSIDE the museum, a miniature Kroger to actually shop and ring up items, a bank to get "money" to buy the groceries, and a fire truck, police car, and police motorcycle to play on/in. They had the best time!
On Sunday, we went to the Memphis Zoo, which is fabulous! They have pandas on loan from China named Ya Ya and Le Le. They are so cute! Trey loved everything about the zoo! He ran from one exhibit to another. It was his first trip to the zoo and definitely well worth it for him! Every time he saw a new animal, he would laugh his silly little laugh he does. He was hilarious! I think he sat in the stroller for about a minute at the beginning and then he was off! The girls loved the sea lions. They put on a show and then we went down below where you could see under the water. One of the sea lions was very friendly and when the girls moved their hands up, he would do a flip! Meg was in love with him!
We had a great time and hated to leave! Thanks for a great weekend, Grandpa!

What a Weekend!
Miss Rori Ember made her way into the extended Mac family on Friday evening weighing in at 9 lbs, 11 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. She is so cute and the girls are so glad to finally have another girl cousin! I love all the dark hair she haves! Congrats to James and Erin on a beautiful addition to the family!
We also just got back from Memphis this evening, so I will post about that tomorrow with pictures! We had a great time visiting my dad and enjoying 90 degree weather (yes, I said 90) and boy, was it muggy! I am not really ready for that kind of weather yet!

Trip to the Zoo
Lily had a class field trip to the "L" Zoo and I took my last personal day to go along. I rode up with another mom (which was nice to save on gas!) and it was nice to have some girlie chat time. I had two of Lily's classmates in our group and we hung out with a couple of other mom's and their kids too. It was a lot of fun! We got to see a python eat a rabbit....yes, you read that correctly....we watched him eat it head first (Lily was fascinated and grossed out all at the same time!). Luckily we missed the part where it squeezed it to death! We also went to see the gorillas which were VERY active and we spent 25 minutes just watching them! They were the best part, plus you could get really close to them, with just a thin sheet of glass between them and us. They were climbing and playing with each other. Very cool!
The exhausted girls sleep on the way home! (Lily and Caroline switched nametags in the car!)

Girls Night
Last night, after Trey went to bed, the girls and I had a little pedicure party. Daniel was at drill, so it was a true girls night. We pampered our feet with Mary Kay Satin Hands and then I let the girls pick out their colors (Lily chose 2) for their toes. We made our toes look good all the while watching a marathon of Hannah Montana (who, by the way, Lily wants her hair to look like). It was a fun girlie night in!

Family Favorite
This book is one of our family favorites. It is the cutest story and has lots of animal sounds in it. I bought this book when Meghan was born and it was so cute when she was learning to talk, how she would "read" the book. Lily did the same, and now so is Trey. He calls it "La La" and LOVES THIS BOOK!!! His favorite part is "Three singing pigs say la, la, la.....No, no you say, that isn't right. The pigs say Oink all day and night". He says the la la part when he sees the page and then will turn the page and say no no no. I love to watch him "read" to himself. I need to buy two more for keepsakes for Lily and Trey. The one I bought when Meghan was little is a little dogeared...very well read. Both of our girls love books and now it seems that Trey is continuing that tradition. He brings me a big stack of books to read to him on the couch....daily!

Pamper Me Mommy
Today was such a nice day. I felt completely pampered. Daniel got up with the kids and let me sleep in. He got Lily in the shower, unloaded the dishwasher, cleaned up the kitchen, and got me breakfast! It was so nice to just be lazy for a change. We had eaten out last night at Corky's (I love BBQ!) to beat the rush for today. Lily got me heart earrings, Meg got me a fern, and Daniel got me a picture to hang in our living room, upstairs. He also went to the grocery, which I hate to do! Isn't tomorrow Mother's Day too??? Back to the grind tomorrow......
What a Beautiful Day!
It was such a pretty day yesterday. We spent a lot of it outside. Meg took her math placement test Saturday morning for middle school. When she got back, I ran her to a birthday party. The rest of us did yard work and bought some pretty new flowers. I found Meg's "old" bubble mower.....I use the term "old" very loosely...and gave it to Trey who is obsessed with lawnmowers. Everytime he hears one, he screams "Daddy!". He went with my mom on Monday around the neighborhood talking to people mowing. I took some pictures of him...he spent 45 minutes outside mowing the sidewalk/grass. Too cute!
**Notice how "new" the mower looks. You can tell his sisters had it before him!

Winding Down....
TGIF!!!!! I am so happy the weekend is upon us....although we have stuff to do, but I can say running the girls around this week is over....for now. It picks up again next week, but not as bad as this past week. To recap, we had play practice, volleyball, middle school orientation, chorus concert, play practice, kids night at church. Saturday brings a bit of spring cleaning at the in-laws house, middle school math placement test, and a birthday party. I am hoping Sunday is a bit more relaxing. I only have three weeks of school left.....YEAAAA!!! I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, thank goodness. I need the break!
Today Trey had a Mother's Day Tea at his daycare, which I was able to attend since it was at the end of the day. It was so sweet. He was so happy to see me that he went to a grandma that was already there and said "this, this" while pointing to me. His little friends all wanted to sit in my lap, which did not sit well with Trey. He was okay as long as he was sitting on me. He did share my lap. He had also made me this cute little bunch of flowers out of his handprint. Way too cute! Lily has made me two cards at school. Meg has her ideas, but she is not sharing them.....yet! Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms out there!

Mac 5 Happenings.....
Well, we have been busy with day to day things....I don't know what it is with this time of year, but it is worse than Christmas! We have been to 6 birthday parties in the past month, with two more in the next two weeks. We have field trips, school activities, and of course, extra cirricular activities. I will be frazzled by the time Trey is old enough for all this!
We have our first official middle school orientation this Tuesday evening. I cannot even believe that I am saying that....middle school....for one of MY kids. Unreal. How old am I??? I do not feel old enough to have a child in middle school. That means she is growing up...that means we have to have THAT talk sometime soon....I don't want her finding out those kinds of things from "friends". I am ready for summer, but not, considering come August I no longer have two elementary schoolers. YIKES!!!!! In my mind, Meg should still be 3 years old...boy, that seems so long ago!
Lily is busy making friends in the neighborhood and calls them all the time! She is already acting like she is 15...she calls them on the cell phone, then walks to another room so we don't hear her conversations! Can you believe that?? She has twins in her class (boy and girl) and they live around the corner, so she is at their house or they are at ours practically everyday. I am so glad that she is making lasting friendships. At our old house, there were no kids her age and she was lonely. Another perk to moving here!
Trey is talking more....not a lot more, but a few words here and there. Here is what he can say so far:
-mommy
-daddy
-this
-bye
-mine (pronounced "my")
-no
-stop ("staw")
-ball ("baw")
-uh oh
-bubble (that one he says perfectly-go figure!)
-more (I think....he does not say it often and it sounds like "MO")
He does lots of imitations...barking dog, meowing cat, mooing cow, growling tiger/lion/dinosaur. He is quite funny at times. He is entering the terrible twos (which my girls did not experience) and loves to "pitch a fit"....ha ha. Some are very funny and others just frustrate the dickens out of me! Oh, the life of a toddler!
